When I awake in the wee hours of the day
I wonder how I slept all
through the night
When I open my curtains
Hoping to be greeted with
the brightness of the sun
Only to lament at the
dullness of the rain
I feel like going back to
bed and sleep all day long
When I hear the wailings
of the ambulance siren from afar off in the heavy rain
I want to curse myself
‘cause I know it’s going to be a bad day
Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!
When a lucky driver
splashes filthy water on my newly bought clothing
I hate myself and I love
the man
I sit dejected with a
feeling of disgust
Reminiscing on my recent
bitter sweet experience
But I look up and
suddenly, a curve of seven colours emanate from the heavens
Finally, something tells
me, there is light at the end of the tunnel
The day might just turn
out to be a good day after all.
And with hours changing
constantly,
With the crescent shape
appearing in the sky
When I realize that
parting ways is such sweet sorrow
And I am back at where it
all started
I look around and lay with
the belief that
The reconnection of joy
awaits me.
There are three stages to pass through if one is to give testimony of success on any endeavours. There is the “promise”
stage- a stage where you are only just starting and have a lot of plans,
dreams, goals and objectives and the belief that things will work fine and then
comes the “prison” stage- a stage whereby you begin to encounter various
problems of different magnitude, problems that threaten to kill your dreams and
ambitions. A stage whereby whatever decision you make will either make or mar
you, will determine what your future will be and finally there is the “palace”
stage- a stage when you have gone beyond the period of ideas conception,
planning and belief of optimism, a stage you will get to because you have taken
profitable risks, have faced a lot of difficulties in every dimension and must
have taken a costly but right step and made a tough but right decision, a stage
of fulfillment and success.
However for some, it is not always the same, some are lucky to make it on time, some hit wealth quickly but the burning issue is that how well and effective your management is will determine if truly there is a brighter future for you, for me and everyone out there.
